Short description
-
The Thirty-Niners Association was formed by those who enlisted for service in the RAN, AIF or RAAF in 1939, the first year of the Second World War. They were the first Australians to enlist and leave Australia to fight the war. They represented all services and came from all walks of life. The association was established to honour the fallen and as a reminder that all men and women were equal.
