Short description
-
The Australian Greek Welfare Society (AGWS) originated in response to the post-World War II migration of Greeks to Australia. Founded by community leaders and volunteers, it aimed to support Greek immigrants in their settlement journey. Over the years, AGWS has expanded its services to meet evolving community needs, including language classes, cultural preservation, and social support programs. Today, AGWS continues to assist Greek-Australians and promote social integration while preserving Greek culture.
