The Aboriginal Information Service was developed in the early 1970’s and funded by the Australian Federal government in 1973. It changed its name to the Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre (TAC) in 1977 which it still trades under despite changing the name once more in 2016 to Tasmanian Aboriginal Corporation.
